Taralli with oil, water and fennel 🌱

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I am full of energy, I have regained contact with the outside world and this fills me with joy! So, I present a recipe of those very important to me, and in this case also fit, despite being one of those traditional recipes!


In Italy we have different versions of different dishes, because the common line that connects us is that, but in each region, province or city, these recipes have their own peculiarity.

This category also includes the classic taralli, which throughout Italy are made in a different way by moving even a few kilometers.


The taralli that I present to you today are those that grandma Giulia used to make, my grandmother who is no longer with us, but who has left us many fantastic memories, such as her excellent cuisine.

My mother kept her recipe, also because she prefers it to the others, and she said that grandmother made them great because at the time, if someone went to visit him, with a tarallo she could also have lunch!


After these wonderful memories, I present the recipe of grandma Juliet's taralli, hoping that her kindness and her good heart will arrive in the homes of all of you.



Ingredients:


  • 2 kg flour 0

  • 40 g salt

  • 1 sachet of 35 g mother yeast

  • 250 g olive oil

  • fennel to taste



Method:


  1. Knead the ingredients like bread.

  2. Leave to rise for 10/15 min.

  3. Boil water in a large pot.

  4. Start making taralli shapes.

  5. Pour the taralli into the boiling water.

  6. Wait until they rise, drain them with a slotted spoon and dry them on a tea towel.

  7. Turn the oven on 180 °.

  8. Place the dry taralli on the baking tray with parchment paper and bake.

  9. Remove from the oven only when they are golden brown.
