Goodmorning everyone! Today we continue on the line of traditions, I have stressed my mum and I will get all the possible and imaginable recipes ... even if it starts to get really hot here in Rome and in a while the oven won't turn it on even under torture 😅
Anyway, today we will talk about pastarelle, a typical dessert very very tasty but also very fat: this fit has nothing at all, but if we talk about traditions we can not do anything.
These pastarelle are simple biscuits, made with lard, I have never made something like that in my life, but they are very good to soak in milk!
Now let's see how to prepare these.
Ingredients:
500 g 00 flour
3 eggs
3 tbsp lard
300 g sugar
zest of 1 lemon
16 g ammonia
1 teaspoon of baking soda
milk to taste
cocoa to taste
Method:
Weigh the bowl beforehand.
Put all the ingredients in a bowl, except the flour and cocoa.
Start mixing, add the flour slowly.
Add a dash of milk.
Weigh everything by subtracting the weight of the bowl and take half the white dough.
Start putting it on the pan.
Now add the cocoa to the remaining dough and mix.
Add a dash of milk.
Place the second dough near the white one.
Bake in a static oven at 160 ° for 20 minutes (depends on the size of the loaves), chec with the toothpick and take out that they are still soft.
Cut slowly.
Put back on the pan and put back in the oven just long enough for it to brown.
Your pastarelle are ready, buon appetito!
Ari ❤️
